As a rural community known as the “Artichoke Capital of the World,” Castroville is home to many who work in the fields to provide for their families. The need for quality affordable housing near their place of employment has been and continues to be a critical need. Utilizing innovative modular construction, this project redeveloped 48 older, run-down units with a 54-unit, newly constructed, multi-family project located on two sites less than one mile apart in Castroville, CA. The new buildings is LEED Gold-certified with all energy-efficient appliances and solar PV system. This development includes playgrounds, laundry rooms, a community room and a computer room.
