York Housing Authority Public Housing Waiting List

As of July 2017, the York Housing Authority (YHA) is currently accepting Public Housing waiting list pre-applications for families and senior/disabled households.

To apply, visit the YHA office to pick up a pre-application, located at 209 E 5th Ave, York, AL 36925, from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm, Monday-Friday.

Once the pre-application has been completed, you must call the YHA office to make an appointment to return the pre-application at (205) 392-5071, from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm, Monday-Friday.

Be sure to include these documents with the pre-application: Social Security Cards and birth certificates for all household members, photo IDs for all adult household members, and proof of all income.

The YHA does not have a preference.

Qualified applicants will be placed on the waiting list by the date and time the pre-application is received.
