Town of Chapel Hill Department of Housing Public Housing Waiting List

The Town of Chapel Hill Housing Department (TCHHD) is currently accepting Public Housing waiting list applications for families and senior/disabled individuals.The TCHHD offers three Public Housing communities with 335 units for families and senior/disabled individuals.To apply, download the application here, then print and complete. The link to the application can be found on the bottom right-hand part of the web page, under "Once the application has been completed, it can mailed or hand delivered to the address listed above.Be sure to include copies of these documents with your application: birth certificates, social security cards, proof of all income, marriage certificate If applicable, custody or guardianship papers, photo IDs for all adult household members.The TCHHD does have a preference point system that may improve your spot on the waiting list: For Orange County residents: disabled, elderly, homeless, rent burden, involuntary displaced.Outside of Orange County: employed, rent burden, involuntary displaced, elderly, homeless, disabled, or victim of domestic violence.More information can be found by visiting the TCHHD website, or by calling 919-968-2850, during normal office hours.
