The Jefferson Metropolitan Housing Authority (JMHA) waiting list for Public Housing apartments is currently open. Applications are being accepted since at least November, 2019, until further notice.

There are two ways to apply during the opening period:

  1. Complete the online application.
  2. Open and print the application online. Select the "Public Housing Application" link.

Once the paper application has been completed, it must be mailed to:

This waiting list has the following preferences:

  • Natural Disaster
  • Government Action
  • Victim of Domestic Violence
  • HUD Disposition
  • 50% Of Income
  • Veteran or Veteran Family
  • Local Resident - Live/Work in Jefferson County
  • Elderly (62 and older)
  • Handicap/Disabled
  • JMHA Current Resident for 12 months or longer in good standing
  • Homeless
