Township of Montclair, New Jersey Section 8 Voucher Waiting List

The Montclair Housing Authority (MHA) last accepted Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications beginning on June 20, 2024, until 225 applications were received. There is no notice when this waiting list will reopen.

Income Qualification

The maximum income limits for each household size were as followed:

• 1 Person $68,500 | 5 Persons $105,650
• 2 Persons $78,250 | 6 Persons $113,450
• 3 Persons $88,050 | 7 Person $121,300
• 4 Persons $97,800 | 8 Persons $129,100

Preferences

This waiting list had the following preferences: Local resident of the Township of Montclair located in the County of Essex, Senior/Elderly, Disabled, Displaced/Disaster, Homeless/Unhoused, Veteran, and Domestic Violence

Selection Process

225 selected applicants were placed on the waiting list by random lottery, by order of preferences.

Application Method

To apply while the waitlist was open, applicants were required to complete the online application.
