Los Angeles, California Section 8 Voucher Waiting List

The Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles (HACLA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is closed.

The HACLA last accepted applications for this waiting list from October 17, 2022, until October 30, 2022. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

To apply during the opening period, applicants were required to complete the online application. The online application was available in English, Spanish, Korean, Chinese, Armenian, and Tagalog.

The maximum income limit for each household size were as follows:

• 1 Person $41,700 | 6 Persons $69,100
• 2 Persons $47,650 | 7 Persons $73,850
• 3 Persons $53,600 | 8 Persons $78,650
• 4 Persons $59,550 | 9 Persons $83,400
• 5 Persons $64,350 | 10 Persons $88,150

This waiting list has the following preferences:

• Preference for waiting list selection will be given to applicants who live, work, or have been hired to work within the City of Los Angeles, as well as to applicants who are veterans or have a household member who is a veteran of the US military, released from such military service under conditions other than dishonorable. 30,000 applicants were placed on the waiting list by random lottery, by order of preferences.
