The Jefferson Metropolitan Housing Authority (JMHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently open. Applications are being accepted since at least November, 2019, until further notice.

There are two ways to apply during the opening period:

  1. Complete the online application.
  2. Open and print the application online. Select the "Section 8 Application" link.

Once the paper application has been completed, it must be mailed to:

This waiting list has the following preferences:

  • Natural Disaster
  • Government Action
  • Victim of Domestic Violence
  • HUD Disposition
  • 50% Of Income
  • Veteran or Veteran Family
  • Local Resident - Live/Work in Jefferson County
  • Elderly (62 and older)
  • Handicap/Disabled
  • JMHA Current Resident for 12 months or longer in good standing
  • Homeless
