Mansfield, Ohio Section 8 Voucher Waiting List

The Mansfield Metropolitan Housing Authority (MMHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently closed. 

The MMHA accepted applications for this waiting list from October 28, 2024 at 7:00AM through October 31, 2024 at 11:59PM. Prior to the 2024 opening, the last time the waiting list was open was January 1, 2023.

Though the time gap between the 2022 and 2024 openings was nearly 20 months, moving forward, it is likely this waiting list will open more frequently. In August 2024, he housing authority board approved a policy change that allows the waiting list to be closed after a designated period of time or when a designated number of applications has been received sufficient to provide 3 months worth of applicants. The housing authority is changing this policy to make the applicant list more fresh.

The housing authority told local media “We can pull 200 vouchers in a month and end up with only about 60 people who actually even respond, and out of that 60, maybe only get 20 or 30 vouchers issued.”
