Sandusky County, Ohio Section 8 Voucher Waiting List

The Sandusky Metropolitan Housing Authority (SMHA) last accepted Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from August 5, 2024, until August 29, 2024. There is no notice when this waiting list will reopen.

Preferences

This waiting list had the following preferences:

• Veterans
• Homeless Families
• Handicapped/Disabled Persons
• Foster Youth Independence (FYI) Voucher preference
• Over- or Under- housed
  • Families currently living in SMHA public housing who, because of decreases or increases in family size, need a unit with less than two (2) bedrooms or more than three (3) bedrooms, may transfer to the Voucher program in order to obtain an appropriately sized unit.

Selection Process

Selected applicants were placed on the waiting list by date and time the application was received, by order of preferences.

Application Method

There were two ways to apply while the waitlist was open:

1. Complete the online application.
2. Pick up a paper application at the SMHA office

Once the paper application has been completed, it must be hand delivered to the SMHA office.
