Smith County Area, Texas Limited Section 8 Voucher Waiting List

The City of Tyler Housing Agency (CTHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently closed. Applications were last accepted on a limited basis for one day only, on December 30th, 2019. This marks the third time that the CTHA has opened a Housing Choice Voucher waiting list since 2009.

According to the CTHA, applications were only being accepted for, "applicants who live or work in Smith County."

To apply during the opening period, applicants were required to complete the online application.

This waiting list had the following preferences:

• Currently live and/or work in Smith County
• Applicant, spouse or cohead 62 years or older and/or disabled
• Veteran who has been honorably discharged

150 applicants were placed on the waiting list by random lottery, weighed by order of preferences.
