Beaumont, Texas Section 8 Voucher Waiting List

The Beaumont Housing Authority (BHA) last accepted Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from August 9, 2023 until, August 11, 2023.

To apply while the waitlist was open, complete the online application.

The waiting list had the following preferences:

• Veterans
  • Veteran families will be given a preference. BHA defines “veteran” as a head of household that was honorably discharged or who is currently on active duty with the following branches of service: Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard and the National Guard (if deployed during war).
• Preference for applicants not currently Housed in Another BHA Assisted Housing Program
  •  Applicants who are not already housed in a program operated by BHA (Section 8 New Construction, Housing Choice Voucher Program) will be given a preference.
• Residential Preference
  •  Applicants that are located in Jefferson, Orange and Hardin County will be given a preference. 
• Public Housing tenants displaced by disposition or modernization activities conducted by the PHA

Selected applicants were placed on the waiting list by date and time the application was received, after sorting preferences.
