Portsmouth, Virginia Mainstream Voucher Waiting List

The Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority (PRHA) Mainstream Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently closed. Applications were last accepted from April 27, 2021 until April 28, 2021. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

Please note: According to the PRHA this waiting list was for "Non-elderly persons (18 and not yet 62 years of age) with disabilities who are: Transitioning out of institutional or other segregated settings; are at serious risk of institutionalization; currently experiencing homelessness; previously experienced homelessness and currently a client in a permanent supportive housing or rapid rehousing project; at risk of experiencing homelessness."

To apply during the opening period, applicants were required to complete the online application.

The maximum income limits for each household size were listed on the public notice.

Preferences have not yet been confirmed.

Selected applicants were placed on the waiting list by random lottery.
