Milwaukee, Wisconsin Section 8 Voucher Waiting List

The Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee (HACM) last accepted Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from December 15, 2021, until further notice. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

Please note: According to the HACM, "If you previously completed a pre-application for the Housing Choice Voucher wait list before December 15, 2021 and were not selected in the lottery, you will need to reapply for an opportunity to be chosen in future lotteries."

Income Qualification

The maximum income limits for each household size are as follows:

• 1 person $29,550 | 5 persons $45,600
• 2 persons $33,800 | 6 persons $49,000
• 3 persons $38,000 | 7 persons $52,350
• 4 persons $42,200 | 8 persons $55,750

Selection Process

Selected applicants were placed on the waiting list by random lottery.

Application Method

To apply while the waitlist was open, applicants were required to complete the online application.
