Chaffee, Custer and Lake County, Colorado Section 8 Voucher Waiting List

The Upper Arkansas Area Council of Governments (UAACOG) last accepted Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list applications from August 19, 2019, until March 17, 2023. There is notice when this waiting list will reopen.

There were two ways to apply during the opening period:

1. Pick up an application from the UAACOG lobby, Located at 3224 Independence Rd, Cañon City, CO 81212. Office hours are Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm MT.
2. Call (719) 275-8350 to request an application by mail or email.

This waiting list had the following preferences:

• A disabled individual.
• A person experiencing homelessness.
• A victim of domestic violence.
• Non-elderly disabled person transitioning from nursing homes and other approved institutions into independent, community-based living.
• Elderly (62+) transitioning from approved institutions into independent, community based living.

Selected applicants were placed on the waiting list by date and time the application was received, weighed by order of preferences.
