Born in Vietnam and raised in Los Angeles, Thao is a designer who is passionate about creating spaces that positively impact people’s lives while also being mindful of the natural world.
She earned her Bachelor of Architecture from SCI-Arc. After freelancing for six years, Thao established Studio Thao in spring 2023. She has worked on a wide range of projects, from residential homes to commercial buildings and public spaces. One of Thao’s greatest strengths is the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, contractors and consultants. She takes the time to listen to her clients’ needs and preferences, and work closely with them to develop designs that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
Thao has had the privilege of learning from one of the most respected and accomplished professionals in the field of architecture. Her experience of working under Norberto F. Nardi AIA, a world-renowned architect, has been a truly transformative one. She has developed a deep understanding of the principles and techniques that underpin great architecture.
She has a high appreciation for design and enjoys working with her hands, using a varierty of materials such as wood and fabric to create objects that bring joy to others. In her personal workshop, Thao continues to explore new design concepts and techniques, showcasing her creativity and passion for all things design.
In her free time, Thao enjoys playing tennis, hiking, camping, bouldering, exploring new cultures, and practicing yoga.
