Hi there! I have been working for a few months with a local woodworker in Dallas. He built a buffet table (Fern Buffet from Anthropologie), built & installed an entertainment center in our family room and is in the process of installing new cabinets in my kitchen (I am including pictures of the work).
I built a very good working relationship with him. We understand each other, we think alike and share common work/business principles like doing right by your client. What you can expect from us is this:
- Communication: open, constant and transparent.
- Adaptability: to your needs and requirements.
- Acknowledgement: in any situation where you have a dissatisfaction with us.
So, Andres and I started Mogano this month (Jan 2024) with the purpose of crafting and installing high quality cabinets for 1) complete kitchen remodels or facelifts, 2) home offices, 3) entertainment centers and 4) furniture directly to the final consumer. I will not write a bio saying that I have multiple years of experience as a contractor, because I do not. I have remodeled a few of my homes, I am demanding in terms of the final product and I like "nice". I am cost conscious and I have built a good sense of the things that do not require an extra cost but that contractors have billed me for in past remodels. If the scope of the work is essentially the same, I will take care of the request if I can reasonably absorb it. Its good practice to do so and its what I did for my clients throughout my banking career.
We have a strong crew that has expertise not only in working wood, but also tile work, basic plumbing and electrical. The collective experience is 150+ years. We have very good (and reasonably priced) countertop manufacturer (granite/marble, etc) as an extended part of our team as well. Lastly, I am still working on this but my goal is to deliver a photorealistic rendering of your kitchen as part of your decision process. This will allow you to see your future kitchen, consider the layout, materials, finishes and decor.
So, why work with me?
When I was in banking, I always dressed sharp. I looked like I was wearing a $1,000 suit but I rarely paid more than $500. That is what I strive to deliver with the work I do for you.
PS: I did splurge on my Ferragamo ties and belt!
All the best, Fernando
