A native of Northern Virginia, Keith Ahern serves as Chef de Cuisine at voyseys at Kiawah Island Club. Inspired by the seasons and local cuisine, Chef Ahern has designed dynamic and creative menus to feature the best local products.
Coming from a rich Italian heritage, Ahern developed his love for food and its ability to bring people together at a young age. At 16, Ahern decided to peruse his passion for food and began to rise the culinary ladder quickly becoming an Executive Sous Chef at the Four Star, Five Diamond Salamander Resort & Spa in Middleburg, Virginia. Ahern honed his skills while working under at The Restaurant at Patowmack Farm, one of the first farm restaurants in the United States.
During the early stages of his career Ahern worked in South Carolina where he developed a love for the low country and the abundance of fresh seafood and access to the many local farms and produce. The low country plays a significant role in Chef Ahern’s inspiration to this day.
