I specialize in social dancing. I am able to teach ANYONE how to lead or follow in any given social dance situation. I guarantee I will get you dancing! I will help you look and feel like the dancer you would like to be. I make it easy and fun and I teach every dance style under the sun!
I have over 12 years of experience and I know I can tailor a learning program specific to you and your needs. If you don't have a partner that's ok! You don't need a partner to learn how to dance. I teach singles, couples, and groups. Two left feet, you say? Well, I know how to make them two right feet. Let me make the process of learning to dance quick and painless for you. Even the most stubborn skeptics walk out of my lessons smiling and feeling good about themselves.
I'm both a dance instructor and choreographer. I prepare students for social dancing at Dancehalls, vacations, special events, and weddings. I help my students be completely prepped for their First Dance, Parent Dances, and being able to social dance at the reception.
Speaking to the happy wedding couples: Your first dance is an important moment for you. Not only is it a traditional symbol of taking your first steps in life together, but it's something you perform in front of all the special people who have supported your love. Unlike the cake, flowers, limo, and decorations, learning to dance with your life partner is an Investment. The steps you learn for your first dance will be something that you can continue to use throughout your lives. Let me make learning to dance together as fun and easy as possible for you.
In addition to Social and Ballroom dance instruction, I teach Dance Therapy and Mind/Body Connection Therapy. This form of therapy can be used in many ways, but there are two ways I'd like to mention. The first way would be to use it as a talk therapy alternative. Through Movement and Dance Therapy, you will be able to heal yourself from anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, eating disorders and other mental and emotional perplexities. It is through movement that we are often able to express and "say" with our bodies the things we cannot verbalize or express through other means.
The second way Movement and Dance Therapy is used, is as a physical therapy aid. Dance is a great way to help keep your mind and body young and active. I have had many physically disabled students come to me as a way to increase flexibility, balance, physical stamina, agility, circulation and even to battle against memory loss. Through movement therapy you will be able to make quick and lasting strides in your overall physical and mental health and well being. I make sure that I tailor a program to your exact wants and individual needs.
