As an experienced Hospice nurse of many years, I have had many opportunities to change challenging family situations into intimate growth opportunities. I grew up with 7 horses and have loved many animals along the way. We have lived with six or seven dogs, for over twenty years. I was so happy when I learned how simple, not necessarily easy, it is to meet dogs' needs.
Twenty years ago we had two male dogs; a Beagle and a King Charles Spaniel. I was miserable trying to walk them, they pulled my arm out of the socket! After much study and practice, I learned how to have them loose leash walk and started showing every dog owner I knew. We expanded to a pack of six dogs and I was able to continue to hone my skills for puppy training and pack leadership. From Great Danes & Pitbulls, to Doodles, Frenchies and Chihuahuas, I fell in love with many dogs and their families. Real solutions for real problems by substituting desired behavior; look, sit, down, relax, for the unwanted behaviors; barking, biting, jumping, inappropriate toileting. As a professional (nurse of 25 years), I wanted to validate my skills and became certified as a positive dog behavior trainer, pet sitter and pet safety/first aide through Animal Behavior College. Retired from nursing in 2018, now, I devote most of my time to dog training and daycare, gardening, family, walking and enjoying the beach and parks. We have a dog friendly home and lovely sun filled decks, and a well-fenced yard. We love to have visitors for calm focus behavior and play time. We board, train, offer day care and grooming. Dog walking and sitting are available, as well. SoniaSaldavia, Heart of Caregiving Pets, LLC
