Welcome. I teach the "how" of drumming. You will learn the underlying skills and principles of coordination, balance, economy of motion, and freedom of movement. From beginner through professional levels of study, we will work together towards a process of progress to achieve your goals and beyond.
Additionally, if you struggle with coordination, tendonitis, body tension, or chronic pain, we will work on your technique, movement, and overall body use to find solutions. I am near completion of teacher certification in the Alexander Technique, and have 15+ years experience teaching drums and music to beginners, professionals, college students, and those working towards making music as a profession.
My performance background includes over 20 tours on three continents, worked with 200+ bands, performers and artists, subbed on three broadway musicals, and recorded on dozens of albums.
All students deserve an experience tailored to their specific strengths and needs. We learn most effectively when the information is interactive, and speaks directly to our interests and experience. Within that framework, you will learn drumming fundamentals, develop a creative and emotional connection with the drums, be provided with real-world experience and study in rehearsing and performing, and we will work towards cultivating and fostering a love of music and drumming.
