The way that I teach is individualized for the student's taste in music and goals. Of course, certain basics must be applied to any style of music but beyond that I do my very best to communicate with the student exactly what we are doing and why it's important for what they and/or their parents want them to learn. Learning to read music is only an option now as I will explain over the phone or in person. However, I CAN read music and I WILL teach it if the individual student wants to learn it. I am VERY heavy on music theory (the easy way) as this will help the student understand ALL music and even help in learning other instruments and/or singing as well. You will reach your musical goals with me faster than with anyone else and we will even have more fun doing it.
I get the satisfaction of knowing that I've brought the very best gift that I've been taught to other people. I love being able to watch them grow from learning how to hold a pick to playing in a professional band, just around the campfire or whatever we decide we're trying to achieve. In many respects, it's even more rewarding than performing. My very first guitar student just released something like his 22nd CD. This thrills me to no end.
I take great pride in giving the student FAR more than their money's worth. I am a member in good standing with the Dunnellon Chamber of Commerce. If you firmly believe that "you get what you pay for", I'll be happy to charge you more. ;-) I'm a Christian and my prices are WAY more than fair. Tips are welcome, though. ;-)
