Michael Paine, Instructor at Salt Lake City Guitar Lessons, has a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Guitar Performance From the University of Utah. He has been playing guitar and performing for over 30 years. Mike has toured as lead guitarist for Country stars Collin Raye, Jamie O'Neal and international recording artist, Alex Boyé. In addition to recording with several “A-list” Nashville-based musicians, including members of Lynyrd Skyntrd and Kenny Rogers' band, Michael has entertained audiences all across the United States and in other parts of the world. He has also received training from GottaSing Vocal Studios. Michael Paine has experience in all styles of music including Rock, Metal, Jazz, Country, Alternative, Pop, Funk, Classical and Broadway. In addition, Michael also holds a second bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, and is now teaching Guitar Lessons in the Salt Lake City, Utah Area! Michael's lessons are different from anyone in the area in that he doesn't just focus on learning songs. Instead, you will also learn how to actually read music for the guitar, music theory, scales and modes, improvisation and soloing, songwriting, and how to play your favorite songs, with the end goal of helping you to become self-sufficient on the guitar. In addition, you will learn technique-improving skills such as how to properly hold your fretting hand, switching quickly between chords, finger coordination and dexterity, singing while playing the guitar and much more.
I enjoy the fact that I am able to do something I love for a living. Playing guitar for a living has always been my passion and dream and I am living that dream. Along the way, I discovered that I also love teaching. Interacting with people is one of my favorite things to do and using my skills, knowledge and experience, I am able to help any student progress and achieve their highest potential!
