I specialize in translating the music you want to learn, into real world playing skill that applies outside of the performance of just one song. We take every thing you learn and break it apart, so you can see the inner-workings of harmony, melody and rhythm! We learn to analyze harmony using Roman Numerals or Nashville Numbers, and Compose! I pride myself on explaining the music you love in to simple explanations that you can use over any song, on any instrument!
I also specialize in teaching improvisation in many different styles - Pop, Indie, Blues, Jazz, Country, Gospel and Worship Music. I also love teaching improvisation to classical musicians, and teaching you to improvise over the same chord progressions that are found in classical pieces. We learn to analyze the harmony of any music, and how to apply Chord-Scale relationships!
Additionally, I have a recording studio in my basement where we have the ability to Record and Produce the music we learn in lessons! Students also have opportunities to make Birthday Gift songs, Ringtones, Holiday recordings, and anything else they can imagine!
I enjoy being able to share the real passion of my life, Music, with people who have always felt it was outside of their reach. My favorite moments are seeing the, "Ah-ha!" when a student realizes something they thought was intangible, as being easy, and that they're capable of doing.
IMPORTANT: I do not commute to lessons, and am only available if you can make online lessons, as I am constantly travelling or touring.
