My name is Kima, and I am the proud owner of Cleaning with K.
From as far back as my early adolescent years, I’ve always found joy in cleaning. I can remember waking up on early Saturday mornings to the smell of breakfast and the sound of R&B music playing throughout the house. That was our cue—me and my three sisters knew it was time to clean. What may have seemed like a chore after a long school week quickly became a tradition I actually looked forward to.
Fast forward to 2024—I’m 28, a first-time mom to the most active and sweetest little boy—and for the first time in a long time, I found myself dreading cleaning. During postpartum, all I wanted was to keep a tidy space that felt like me, but I was exhausted. Between adjusting to motherhood, managing a home, working, and trying to keep up with a barely-there social life, I felt burnt out. I needed something to ground me again.
So I did what I knew best: I asked my sister to watch my baby for the day, put my headphones in, turned the music up, and deep-cleaned my entire house. That day reminded me why I love cleaning. It’s more than just a task—it’s a getaway. A moment of peace. A way to reset.
That’s when I realized: if cleaning could bring me this much clarity and calm, why not offer that same feeling to others?
Starting Cleaning with K wasn’t just about building a business—it was about making a difference. I know firsthand how a clean, organized space can shift your mood, improve your focus, and bring a sense of peace. That’s what drives me: helping others reclaim their time, reduce stress, and find comfort in a space they love coming home to.
