About

I specialize in Reading and Math and I love to teach! I firmly believe that all people can learn and actually learn much faster one-on-one. It is a matter of having a fun curriculum, the right educational tools, good communication, the correct encouragement and validation. All children deserve a chance to live up to their full potential.

I am currently the Reading Specialist in the Special Ed Dept. at a Charter Middle School where I tutor children with ADD and Dyslexia and Processing Disorder.

In the last 20 years, I have tutored students ranging from those in need of homework help to those enrolled in special education programs, from those diagnosed with learning differences such as ADD/ADHD and processing disorders to the exceptionally bright or the gifted.

My 30-year career in education started as a teacher at Lewis Carroll Academy of the Arts, where I taught Kindergarten through 12th grade. I went on to become the Director of Education, during which time I developed their phonics program and English curriculum and specified all math, history, science and geography curriculum. I had direct oversight of the teachers, classrooms, quality control and the educational programs that were specifically tailored to each individual student.

I also served as the Director of the Hollywood Education and Literacy Project which is a non-profit is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mission is to eradicate illiteracy and empower the individual to become a competent, independent learner with sound communication skills that make it possible to succeed in life.
