I finished a Bachelor of Music Education, majoring in Piano and minoring in Voice.
I have been offering music lessons since 2006. I am also an active member of SMAC- OC; as a Member of the Suzuki Music Association of California, Orange County branch (SMAC-OC), I accept the principles stated in Nurtured by Love and other writings of Dr. Shinichi Suzuki and other leaders in the Talent Education Movement. These principles include:

My music studio prepares my student for a yearly recital and helps them get ready for any school performances. As a member of MTAC, I also encourage them to participate in taking the Certificate of Merit examination.
My teaching philosophy is the belief that every child can develop talents and my task as a teacher is to share my love and passion for music, providing the path by building the skills that will open the door to success and hope to the lifelong joy of music-making and creates the environment in which my student will motivate themselves.
As a Suzuki Piano Teacher, the Method book that I am using is the Suzuki Book International Edition, and the supplementary book that I am in the Piano Adventures Curriculum by Faber and Faber and also Piano Safari Books. This method book is based on discovery, creativity, and adventures through music-making. There are four books at each level—lesson, Performance, Theory, and Technique.
There is also an additional supplementary book that is essential for student progress that motivates practice. The PreTime to BigTime Piano Supplementary Library correlates with Piano Adventures to provide a broad selection of music to meet each student's interest- at the precise difficulty level. The styles include Popular, Rock n' Roll, Classics, Jazz & Blues, Ragtime & Marches, Children's Songs, Favorites, Hymns, and More Popular. Piano Safari Pattern Pieces and Repertoire Books.
The student will be oriented to Piano through black Key pieces that explore the keyboard range for young beginners. This is followed by the off-staff note reading, which teaches the student the keyboard letter names and primary rhythms.
Technique & Artistry: Develops hand Structure, relation, and coordination in a systematic pathway to superb playing.
I am also a big believer in teacher-student duets. For many years of teaching younger students, I learned that playing with the beginning student is one of the best ways to improve their playing; they tend to model their playing from their teacher, so the benefits alone are worth it. It does make the simple piece sounds grown-up.
I also introduced solfege to the student to help them internalize each note's sound and develop sight-singing.
