I have over 30 years’ experience in writing, editing, layout, public speaking, tutoring, and coaching others. I’ve been an avid reader since age three. I know the English language!

•I have created monthly newsletters for three clubs, writing reports myself and obtaining and editing others from members. I also completed the layout, printing, and mailing.

•I am trained in Public Relations and have often held press conferences myself and trained others how to do it effectively.

•I am trained in reading and writing legal briefs, and have managed several lawsuits for one of my employers.

•I have edited a novel for a friend, a recently published novel, and an electrical repair manual so far.

•I have trained people in public speaking and in sales.

•In my most recent job I trained and coached a team of 40 to 50 people how to effectively hand out samples and sell the product.

•I have tutored writing and speaking for several non-native speakers of the English language and helped one get straight A grades in college and eventually a job in that school’s IT department.

•I have worked for large organizations in their communications and advertising departments helping to craft the written word to best support the unfolding vision within the company.

Pricing for tutoring:

•I charge by the hour for tutoring and the same for 45 minutes as for an hour. (You might as well take the full 60 minutes.)

•The first session is always free so we can get to know each other and I can evaluate the student’s needs.

•After the first session I expect payment ($50 an hour) before the start of the lesson.

•I give a ten percent discount to anyone who pays for ten sessions in advance: $450 for ten lessons.

I love people and I love the English language. When people increase their ability to communicate understandably it gives them freedom and control in their lives, and I love helping them achieve that. Knowing English, knowing how to do what you need to do in English, increases confidence, job skills and income, enhances pleasure in reading, improves the ability to learn any subject, eases interpersonal relationships, and on and on. Helping people attain that knowledge is completely satisfying to me.
