I believe that the majority of vocal styles can be taught with the same healthy, underlying vocal technique. I concentrate on freeing any tension that is blocking the student's voice, teaching them how to feel where the voice focuses in their body, and supporting all of this with a low, relaxed, sustained breath.
I find that making sure students sing in a comfortable environment is extremely important - singing is a very personal experience! I make sure that lessons are held in an environment of encouragement and positivity.
While studying with me students can feel assured that they truly have a teacher who has their best interest at heart. My goal is that my students can sing until they are 80 due to their healthy technique! In my lessons I help singers improve their technique, musicianship, and performing skills and adapt lessons to each individual's musical goals. I don't follow a strict curriculum, but rather focus on what YOU want to sing while having fun!
