Since the COVID-19 outbreak, I teach lessons online; that way we remain safe, and you can enjoy lessons from your own home while we still see each other and converse! There are a lot of fun things we can do online. I utilize quite a few online resources and share my screen to do games, share a chalkboard, read a book together, listen to some music, watch a video, and other activities.
Learning should be FUN, not boring! We all learn better and faster and we remember more if we are enjoying the process.
You may notice that some professionals on Thumbtack have been hired by a large number of people. Having a large number of hires doesn't always equate with excellence.
I don't have a huge number of hires because I have longevity and I am a team of one. I work with my students long-term. I have been working with some of my students for as long as ten years (which is when I began private tutoring and joined Thumbtack). Therefore, I don't have the need to be continually looking for new students. However, I usually have space for new students.
Prior to doing private tutoring I worked as a translator. One of my degrees is in Spanish translation.
Additionally, probably 50% of my students come from unsolicited referrals by my other students.
I incorporate games, music (if you learn something to music you tend to remember it better and longer), simulations of everyday activities, conversation, reading, writing, listening activities, visuals and lots of handouts to help you learn.
You will remember better and learn faster if you complete assignments outside of the lesson time frame, so I assign homework, if you are willing. Every student is given a customized lesson plan and we go at your pace.
