Tax minimization and strategic financial planning is my focus. Instead of preparing financial statements for the sake of financial statements and/or preparing tax returns to just get the annual requirement done and out the door, I look at a much bigger picture. While I have no hesitation to think outside the box, my box is much larger than that of most other accountants'. My starting point is the taxpayer, their family, their job, business and/or investments and income therefrom as a total picture to achieve all their financial goals such as current cash flow (i.e. having enough money to pay the bills) and future obligations including medical expenses, charity, tuition, retirement savings, risk reduction (insurance) and any other future cash requirements, including estate planning.
Client satisfaction. That feeling when my client knows we looked at everything that needs to be looked at and all is in order so they can sleep peacefully at night, even if I am still up working on the next one.
