A bit about me: whether I'm dealing with you or your child, you are my first priority. If I've learned one thing from tutoring, it's that not only is it not one size fits all, it's *everyone has a completely different size*. My biggest asset is my ability to tailor my tutoring to anyone I need to. I have happily tutored 7 year old boys with ADHD, 17 year olds with non-verbal autism, and most importantly kids of every age that simply don't want to do their work. If I'm good at one thing, it's motivating children and young adults to try hard, even when they don't want to.
Now, some experience: I've been tutoring every subject besides foreign languages for 10 years. All histories, all social studies, all math, all science, and all language arts from pre-K through 12th grade. After working as a private tutor during high school, I worked for two years as a private writing tutor at New College of Florida, then worked at IMG Academy in south Florida for two years where I was both a private tutor (for regular classes, AP classes, and SAT/ACT prep) and taught a daily class for SAT prep students.
I know the SAT and the ACT like they're my parents. I know all the question types, all the ways they like to attempt to trick you, and all the things that aren't worth your time.
While I was in high school, I took and passed 15 AP classes, all of which I passed, 8 of which I got perfect scores on. I have my International Baccalaureate Diploma and passed all my exams, included IB Physics Standard Level and IB Chemistry Higher level. In the last 5 years, I have transitioned into primarily tutoring the SAT and ACT, though I still tutor all subjects, including any general writing improvement. I took the SAT when it was still out of 2400; I took it exactly once and got a 2130. On the math section, I missed only one question. On the grammar section, I missed only four questions. On the reading section, I again missed four questions. This was prior to my years of SAT teaching experience.
I know these tests. And I'm a very good teacher.
