About

NYU Graduate and 10+ years tutoring experience.

Every child needs a champion.

Throughout my 10+ years tutoring, I’ve refined my approach to address the fact that academic success must be achieved holistically. Students thrive not only when they’re receiving academic support, but also receiving the tools they need to develop their own work ethic, goal setting skills, critical thinking, problem solving, self-advocacy, confidence, independence, and perseverance.

My academic instruction and support is interwoven with these various social emotional skills. My goal for each of my students has not only been for them to thrive in school, but also to instill a growth mindset and confidence that they can overcome any challenge, academic or otherwise.

I have 7 years of private tutoring experience with students ages 12-19, 3 years of experience working as an teacher’s assistant tutoring children ages kindergarten-5th grade, and 3 years of experience working as an teacher’s assistant and small group/1:1 tutor and student success coach in a middle school with children ages 11-16. Lastly, I have 3 years of experience tutoring high schoolers and college students both in academics and resume building, cover letter writing, mock interviewing, public speaking, and other professional development skills.

My main areas of focus are the following subjects:

- English, reading, writing, and literacy

- Social studies

- Science (kindergarten-8th grade level)

- Test prep + studying best practices

- College applications

- Professional development (resume building, cover letter writing, interview skills, basic professionalism skills for young professionals)

- Macro context and building investment in the importance of school work and social emotional skills (AKA - thoughtful answers to questions like “why do I have to learn this??” ?)

- Personal skills such as time management, public speaking, SMART goal setting and action step creation for achieving goals, personal accountability, organization and prioritization, planning and preparation, and self advocacy.

Supporting students has been my absolute passion for the last 10+ years. I am dedicated to tailoring my approach to best serve every student’s individual, unique needs, and I am personally invested in the success of all of my students. I’ve had numerous students and their families over the years maintain contact after my services and express gratitude for my impact, which has been extremely rewarding. While I will adapt my approach to meet each student where they are at, I treat each of my students always with a balance of warmth, empathy, focus on mental health, accountability, and high expectations.
