Greetings! First sessions incentivized to $40... but be aware that I'm in Philadelphia, so Zoom might be necessary! Also, yes, I have credentials but CANNOT EVALUATE YOU FOR LEGAL OR MEDICAL AUTHORITIES, if that is your situation.
In my sessions I do everything possible to make you feel comfortable and safe. My style is informal and personable; be assured that nothing is off limits to talk about, and we'll double-check to be sure that I really get it! If there is real trust in or relationship we can’t go wrong, even if the counselor screws up as we sometimes do like anyone else.
The most rewarding feedback I get is to the effect that I care for my clients and/or students (I also teach adult ed classes.) “I felt loved,” one person said. As long as I feel qualified to help a person, there is no client personality I will not work with. I will never be impatient with you. From me, rather, you will get unqualified belief and faith that you CAN make progress on your issues, no matter how much or how little. Why? Because I believe we all come from the same source and all want the same happiness and enlightenment. YOU HAVE THE KNOWLEDGE AND INNER RESOURCES ALREADY TO HELP YOURSELF… you just might need some help accessing it.
We will get things done in our sessions! Although I need to get to know in detail and have my own process for doing that, I always ask, “In what practical way can I help you right now?” You will get homework… what happens between sessions, after all, is ultimately more important than the sessions themselves. Sometimes I will email or text clients between sessions to check in and see if they’re on track with what we want to accomplish together.
I don’t take insurance... $40 as an incentive for the first session, $80/hour after that. $70 each for a package of four sessions or more. If after the second session (at $80) you can't afford that rate, we can talk about it. I can't do it with everybody, but about half my clients pay less. As long as your attitude is in the right place, I hate turning folks away who really need help!
