Matthew Simonis is a freelance director, cinematographer, and editor with over 10 years of experience in professional video and film production. His career began at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s Peck School of the Arts, a top 25 film school. After graduating in 2015 his senior thesis film Frame of Mine went on to screen at over a dozen film festivals across the country.
Throughout his career, Matthew has worked with a variety of cameras and technologies, adapting his technical expertise to suit diverse production needs. His experience spans a wide range of production types, including commercial, corporate, event, local TV, live TV directing, short films, and music videos. Whether in a freelance capacity or as the Director of Video at Michigan Creative, he has successfully directed and managed small production crews, ensuring high-quality storytelling and seamless execution.
He is deeply passionate about the relationship between visual imagery and storytelling, believing that no detail is too small when crafting visuals that enhance the narrative. His approach prioritizes intentionality in every frame, ensuring that every frame contributes intentionally to the greater story.
