Scattered Sites, 2, 3 and 4-Bedroom Section 8 Project-Based Voucher Waiting List

The South Portland Housing Authority (SPHA) last accepted Section 8 Project Based Voucher waiting list applications for 2, 3 and 4-Bedroom apartments for Scattered Site apartments from the earliest confirmed open date of January 4, 2024, until November 30, 2024 at 4PM. There is no notice when the waiting list will reopen.

To apply while the waitlist was open, applicants were required to print the paper application.

Once the paper application was completed, it was to be: Returned to the SPHA office.

The maximum income limits for each household size were as followed:

• 1 Person $41,450 | 5 Persons $63,900
• 2 Persons $47,350 | 6 Persons $68,650
• 3 Persons $53,250 | 7 Person $73,350
• 4 Persons $59,150 | 8 Persons $78,100

This waiting list had the following preferences:

• Families with Minor Children or Dependents
• Residency (live or work in South Portland)
• Veterans
• Victims of a federally declared natural disaster

It was not known how applicants were placed on the waiting list, by order of preferences.
