Jefferson County, Alabama Section 8 Voucher Waiting List

The Housing Authority of Birmingham District (HABD) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently closed. Applications were last accepted from December 11, 2024 at 10:00 am, until December 12, 2024 at 3:00 pm CT. The last time the waiting list was open before that was in October of 2020 and June, 2015 before that.

To apply during the opening period, applicants completed the online application here or contacted the housing authority for a paper application.

Preferences for this waiting list opening have not been confirmed.

3,000 applicants will be placed on the waiting list by random lottery, weighed by order of preferences.
