Herkimer, New York Section 8 Voucher Waiting List

The Herkimer Housing Authority (HHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently open until further notice.

There are three ways to apply:

• Download and print the application online. Click the link titled "Complete Preliminary Section 8 Housing Application."
• Call the office at (315) 866-2252.
• Pick up an application at the HHA office, located at 315 N. Prospect St, Herkimer NY 13350, from 8:00 am until 12:00; and 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm.

This waiting list has the following references: Live, work or have been hired to work in the Village of Herkimer; veteran; currently lives in Public Housing, Indian Housing, Section 8, or any other type of federally subsidized housing. 

If an applicant has been evicted from Public Housing, Indian Housing, Section 23 housing, or the Section 8 program for drug related criminal activity, they are ineligible.

Selected applicants will be placed on the waiting list by date and time the application has been received, by order of preferences.

As of November 2017, there are more than 140 persons on the waiting list.
