I hold a master’s degree in Applied Linguistics. I am trained to hear pronunciation mistakes and find their cause. Then I’ll patiently show you how to make each sound sound perfect!
I LISTEN
Each class begins with a 15-minute checkup where I just listen to your English. You can tell me about your week, your work, your family…ANYTHING! Meanwhile, I am assessing your English (grammar, vocabulary AND pronunciation), noting your mistakes, and planning for your improvement. Based on that day’s check-up, we fix that day’s problems. That way lessons are always relevant.
GRAMMAR MADE SIMPLE
We fix only what is broken. You don’t have to study the whole English grammar. I spot your mistakes and explain in very simple terms why it’s a mistake. Then we fix it.
CONSTANT VOCABULARY BUILDING
I am skilled at assessing a student’s vocabulary level and adjusting mine just ‘one step higher’. That way, new words come at an easy rate to learn.
ACCENT REDUCTION SPECIALIST
Unlike most ESL teachers, I hold a master’s degree in Applied Linguistics (UT Arlington, 1995). In other words, I have the training to help my students with their accent and pronunciation. Good pronunciation is the first step to being understood.

Upon request, I make a recording of each class and provide it to you free of charge. That way, you can listen and repeat anything you missed, anytime, anywhere!

Upon request, after each class, I make a practice video just for you that covers that day’s lessons.
PERSONALIZED HOMEWORK
The homework covers only what you need. I will check the homework, note the mistakes, and help you improve.
LEARNER CENTERED
My teaching style is learner-centered and learner directed. This means that each session is for you and not for me. My lesson plan is always flexible. If you want to do pronunciation drills for an hour, I will be patient. If you want to lighten up and have a relaxed conversation, I will accommodate. If you want something in-between, just let me know!
