I really enjoy seeing how well students progress when working in a one-on-one setting. I have experience teaching in a classroom, but I prefer being able to focus on each individual student's strengths and weaknesses as a tutor. As a tutor, I can work with each student in a manner that is optimal to their learning.
With over ten years of experience, I have had a lot of practice in addressing a student's unique needs. This enables me to explain the material in a way that they can best understand. I have worked with a full range of students, from those who are well ahead of their grade level, to those who need a lot of help catching up.
I have a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from UCLA, as well as a Master of Science in mathematics from the University of Illinois at Chicago. I specialize in all levels of math instruction, from first grade through college. I also specialize in standardized test (ACT, SAT, etc.) preparation. Additionally, I can help younger students with reading and English.
