About

Hi I’m Jonathan, a Bassist and Singer-Songwriter in Chicago, IL. I graduated from the University of Chicago in 2020 with a degree in Music Theory and Composition. Since then, my skills as a bassist and composer have taken me all over the country playing different kinds of R&B, Jazz, Pop, Rock, and Latin music. My work has also been featured in a number of international press outlets and local radio stations.

In my bass teaching practice, I endeavor to share the skills and experience I have cultivated with my students. It is my belief that no matter how far along we are in the journey of music, it has something to offer each of us. I also believe that every learner is different. By crafting my lesson plans individually for each student, I help the people I work with to discover their own learning style and reach their goals. It’s great to sound good on your instrument, but it’s even better to sound like yourself!
