About

The Charles City Housing and Redevelopment Authority (CCHRA) is currently accepting Public Housing waiting list pre-applications for families and senior/disabled individuals.The CCHRA offers one Public Housing community with 15 units for families and senior/disabled individuals.There are two ways to apply:

  1. Visit the CCHRA to pick up a pre-application, located at 501 Cedar Terrace South, Charles City, IA 50616, from 8:00 am until 4:30 pm CT, Monday-Friday.
  2. Download a pre-application online here, then print and complete.
Once the pre-application has been completed, it must be hand delivered to the address listed above, from 8:00 am until 4:30 pm, Monday-Friday.Be sure to include these original documents with the pre-application: Birth certificates, Social Security Cards, photo IDs for all adult household members, and if claiming a preference you must provide proof.The CCHRA does have a preference point system that may improve your spot on the waiting list: Working, elderly, disabled, or live and/or work in Charles City.For more information, visit the CCHRA website, or call the office at (641) 228-6661, from 8:00 am until 4:30 pm, Monday-Friday.
