St. Joseph County, Indiana Section 8 Voucher Waiting List

The Saint Joseph County Housing Authority (SJCHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is closed.

The SJCHA last accepted applications for this waiting list from February 20, 2023, until February 23, 2023. There is no notice when this waiting list will reopen.

To apply during the opening the opening period, applicants were required to complete the online application.

The maximum income limits for each household size were as followed:

• 1 Person $27,300 | 5 Persons $42,150
• 2 Persons $31,200| 6 Persons $45,250
• 3 Persons $35,100 | 7 Person $47,400
• 4 Persons $39,000 | 8 Persons $51,500

This waiting list had the following preferences:

• Local Residency
  •  This preference is available to families who live or include a family member that works in the jurisdiction of the St. Joseph County Housing Authority (OUTSIDE the city limits of South Bend and Mishawaka) or is a person who has been hired to work in the jurisdiction of the St. Joseph County Housing Authority. The jurisdiction of SJCHA is the RURAL area of St. Joseph County, IN. (towns of Walkerton, North Liberty, Roseland, Lakeville, New Carlisle, Osceola, Granger, and any five (5) digit street address in the rural area of St. Joseph County). 
• Disabled
• Elderly
• Veteran

500 selected applicants were placed on this waiting list by date and time the application was received, by order of preferences.
