The Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is closed.

The NRHA last accepted applications for this waiting list from July 12, 2022, until July 14, 2022. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

To apply during the opening period, applicants were required to complete the online application. Public computers were available for use to apply at other Norfolk Public libraries. A library card was needed to use the Norfolk Public libraries computers.

The maximum income limits for each household size were listed on the public notice.

This waiting list had the following preferences: 

  • Resident of Norfolk - 20 points (includes families employed in Norfolk)
  • Working Families - 10 points (includes head of household or spouse or sole member is aged 62 or older or is a person with disabilities (Notice PIH 2011-33) or where the head of the household is the primary caregiver for a disabled household member. Minimum works hours 15 per week for non-elderly and non-disabled.)
  • Veterans - 5 points (includes persons who were honorably discharged or under other than dishonorable conditions.)

Selected applicants were placed on the waiting list by date and time the application is received, weighed by order of preferences.
