Hi! My name is Rebecca (Becky) Quigley. I hold a masters of science (MS) in Clinical Yoga Therapy and am a certified yoga therapist (C-IAYT). I am an experienced 500hr registered yoga teacher (E-500-RYT). This just means that I’ve taught over 2000 hrs of yoga and yoga therapy. I hold a restorative, yin yoga, meditation, trauma-informed yoga for youth teaching certifications as well as a certification in yoga for Mindful Resilience for Trauma through the Veteran’s Yoga Project.
I use all of my training to provide yoga therapy to adolescents and adults experiencing behavioral and mental health disorders, trauma disorders like PTSD & C-PTSD, substance use disorders, and dissociative disorders like DID. I also work with people who are interested in regulation and co-regulation of the nervous system, stress disorders, and general overwhelm. I currently work as a yoga therapist at a private psychiatric hospital as well as my own private practice out of the Baltimore-Annapolis center for Integrative Healing.
With certain diagnoses, I will touch base regularly with your primary treatment team to be sure we’re all on the same page. This service is based on your consent.
Most sessions use the restorative practice of yoga (like Yoga Nidra) as a tool to quiet the mind and heal the body through balancing the nervous system. This means a beginner with little to no experience or a seasoned practitioner can both benefit. I introduce slow movements to strengthen and stretch the body and meditative movements to integrate the practice. Other styles of yoga used are Ashtanga-based, Hatha, Restorative, Yin, and Slow Flow Vinyasa.
I truly believe in the power of yoga to transform your life through regulating emotion & the nervous system, developing compassion and confidence, and looking at life though a different set of lenses. Yoga aims to reduce suffering, and I’m living proof that it helps to do just that!
If you are considering yoga therapy, please contact me and see if I would be a good fit in your healing journey!
COVID-19 Precautions:
I am open to wearing a mask in sessions. This may change with new vaccinations/developments, but will always be set to your comfort level! Any equipment I bring is fully sanitized prior to each use, many items are assigned to you and only you will use this item. Let’s stay healthy and yoga!
I work hard to make my adjustments verbal unless you are in danger of injuring yourself. YOU are in charge of how the lesson is conducted, and I happily respect ALL concerns.
